Biting
If you want to stop dog biting, you have to start training while your dog is still young. Since puppies
love to play. As long as you teach them well and proper early in life, you will be able to stop dog
biting.
To stop dog biting, distract your dog by offering him toys. Avoid activities that might lead the puppies
to bite. When the puppy bites you, even if it is only playing, give a loud "Ouch!"so that it will startle the
puppy. This is a way to stop dog biting. Your puppy will actually understand you because when puppies play and they
get hurt, they let one another know that it hurts by whelping aloud. So when you do the same thing, your pup will
know that you are hurt by their bite and thus, this will stop dog biting.
To stop dog biting, do not punish your puppy physically since this will only have a negative effect on
him. What you should do if you want to stop dog biting is just to verbalize and ignore the puppy for a few minutes.
Do this a few more times and the puppy will know that people will not stay if they are bitt en. Puppies love attention so this will
eventually help to stop dog biting. To lessen or stop dog biting, avoid activities like tug or games that
involve the puppies’ mouth since this can lead to biting.
If everyone in the family can follow the
rules you use it will help to stop dog biting as early as possible. Children must be taught how to handle a
puppy and they must also be supervised when they are playing. If you do not stop dog biting, it may lead to
dog aggression.
If you still cannot stop dog biting, you can use this method but make sure that your puppy will not bite
too hard:
Discourage biting by loosely holding the lower jaw of your dog using your thumb and forefinger after your
dog has your finger in his mouth. Do not squeeze too hard or else you will hurt your pup. Just gently hang on so
that wherever it is that his mouth goes, your hand goes there too. Do this for about 10 seconds and your pup will
get the idea. The next time that you place your hand near the pup and if he ignores it or just licks it, reward
him.

Another option that you can use is to use bitter apples you can coat a glove with a foul-tasting
substance like bitter apples. Every time your dog bites, he will be repelled by the taste and then eventually stop
biting. The only thing that your dog will fear will be the gloves so do not really use this method if you still
have other alternatives.
Train Dogs Not to Bite
For older and more mature dogs, they will need more training if they bite. Here are some ways that you can
use on older dogs:

If you have visitors you might want to use muzzles so
that your dog will not bite the people he does not know.
-
Make it clear to your dog that biting
is never acceptable. By uttering a loud yelp, your dog will understand that you do not like
biting.
-
Do not wait for too
long or else the situation might just worsen. Stop dog biting as soon as you can to prevent the behaviour
worsening.
Just remember
that you must not scold your dog harshly or hurt him physically. Make the training as pleasant as possible so that
you will eliminate the unwanted behaviour and not cause unnecessary
fear.
